State purchasing policies require AgriLife to remain brand agnostic when reviewing computer purchases. Instead of focusing on specific brands or models, TechBuy evaluates purchases based on how well a particular configuration meets the stakeholder’s needs and the overall value to AgriLife. When we consider value, we assess all costs associated with managing and supporting the computer over its intended lifecycle, not just the initial purchase cost.
Our existing relationships with HP sales, engineering, and warranty support teams significantly reduce the costs—both monetary and opportunity costs due to lost productivity—of managing and supporting HP-manufactured computers compared to their competitors. However, we do source from other manufacturers when appropriate, especially when there is a clear business need that cannot be met by HP options.
Special Order Timeline
Special order processing timelines related to obtaining quotes and delivery cannot be guaranteed. All special orders naturally require the manufacture to quote and build to specification. Depending on the consistency of the required system configuration this may introduce timelines that do not meet your needs.
We recommend all special orders be placed at a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks prior to the time you expect to need the system for use.
